About Dr. Malieri Colon-Rivera
Dr. Malieri Colon-Rivera is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has dedicated her career to caring for the health of her patients through many important stages of their lives.She offers comprehensive services, including regulation of menstrual periods, contraception, prenatal care, treatment of gynecologic conditions, menopause management, and care for vulvar pain and disorders, always focusing on patient understanding and attention.
She completed her medical degree at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Puerto Rico, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Malieri Colon-Rivera has passed medical board examinations in three different countries, giving her a broad, international perspective on medical care.
Dr. Colon-Rivera has extensive experience in both outpatient and hospital settings. This breadth of experience allows her to approach each patient with confidence, clarity, and a strong focus on safety.
She has been actively involved in community service since her early education. During medical school, she provided care to underserved populations in remote areas of Mexico. During her residency in Puerto Rico, she worked with attending physicians to present a proposal to government health representatives advocating for continued access to gynecologic oncology care. She has also donated for several years to the MCR Foundation, reflecting her continued commitment to serving the community beyond routine medical care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Colon-Rivera has served as faculty and supervised resident physicians, helping to train the next generation of doctors. This experience reflects her commitment to maintaining high standards of care and staying current with evidence-based medicine.
She is fluent in English and Spanish.
