About Dr Isalis Sanchez-Pena, MD

Born and raised in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Dr. Sanchez-Pena attended the University of Puerto Rico for her undergraduate studies, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Medicine has always been a part of her life, and it’s true when they say some things run in the family—her father, an OB/GYN, has been her role model and inspiration.
Dr. Sanchez-Pena attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, graduating cum laude. Women’s health has always been her passion, making her decision to specialize in OB/GYN a natural one. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus in San Juan.
Dr. Sanchez-Pena has a particular focus on adolescent care, menopause, PCOS, preconception care, and minimally invasive surgery. She believes OB/GYN is the best specialty because it allows her to care for women throughout all stages of life, helping them navigate and understand their health journeys together.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband, and dog. Together, they love traveling, exploring new places, and watching baseball. They consider themselves foodies and enjoy trying cuisines from around the world and learning about different cultures.
Dr. Sanchez-Pena is fluent in Spanish and English, proudly bringing her Puerto Rican heritage and bilingual skills to her patient care.
